Teaching is a noble career. Being a teacher is not that easy. It needs alot of patience and "passion" to a certain limit since it is important for a person to love the job he/she is doing in order to fully succeed in it.
So this applies a little bit more on teachers. The teacher is not only a person who gives knowledge to students, A teacher is the second guide for students. Students spend almost half of their day learning at school, so certainly too many things will happen there. And all of what happens (fights,talks, cases in class) are opportunities to learn something from. Respect, being good with others and many other basics in life could be attained there. Each class is a sample of the big society that all students will be dealing with after they finish. Thus, the school would be a basic stage that prepares students to the true life out; within people. And this will be the second big role of the teacher after being the one who teaches content and knowledge.
For that teachers really have to love their job and live for it in order to be the good teachers, students need.

Sorry but you wrote that teaching is a career so do you think teaching is a profession? Do you think a teacher is a professional? Do you agree that the criteria which assess professionalism can be used as an evaluating rubric to consider teaching as a profession?
Deleteyes i believe that the teacher reflect the student's attitudes toward the subject, for example if the teacher is giving a lesson just because she have to give it,this will make students feel bored, misbehave and inattentive. on the other side, if the teacher enters the class enthusiastically, with a smiley face, the students will feel they want to learn and belonging to the subject.
ReplyDeleteYes Omar I said that it is a career;still it is a semi profession. As you know we highlited it in one of our previous courses. Teaching has some of the characteristics that meet with those of professions in general.
